Wednesday Update

Ceil had her EEG done this morning.  Everything went well and Ceil was relaxed during the procedure.  Dr. Larson will interpret the EEG and let us know his finds in couple of days.   After the EEG, we went to Sam's
to visit Doug and pick up supplies for Ceil.  Ceil was full of energy and enjoyed the outing very much.  I am pleased to announce that the EEG from this morning showed slight improvement from the last EEG!  No abnormalities or concerns seen by Dr. Larson.   We will now look at changing Ceil's anti seizure medication to a less sedating type.  Yeah!!  On with the recovery!

Tuesday Update

Ceil had therapy this morning and Doug took her.  Afterward, they went to Molitor's restaurant.  Doug is so good to his mom, and really enjoys spending time with her when he has the opportunity.  Tomorrow we have an EEG scheduled for Ceil, as ordered by Dr. Larson.  Dr. Larson will review the EEG results and may change the anti seizure medication so that Ceil will not be so groggy and tired. 

The Workout

Ceil has an appointment with the neurologist today.  We are going to try and get the Dilantin dosage reduced so that Ceil can think clearer and be more engaged in her life and therapy.  The Dilantin has been making her very groggy, and at times, disoriented.  Ceil worked out with Linda this morning on the recumbent bike, while Linda walked on the treadmill beside her.  Linda is still recovering from her hysterectomy surgery, and walking on the treadmill will help her strengthen her legs and abdomen.  Ceil went over 25 minutes this morning!

Sunday

Ceil had a nice chat with Annie on the phone, and is now watching Holiday Inn.  An all-time favorite movie for the holiday season.  More to come.

Ken, Judy, and Claude came over for dinner with Ceil.  It was a good time, filled with crazy conversation and good food.

Saturday

Ceil awoke to a snowy morning.  Her first word was, "wow!"  Denise will be coming over this morning to give Ceil a shower, as Linda is still in recovery from her surgery.  Not sure what the day will bring, but I'll keep you posted.  Have a snowy day!

Friday Update

Ceil spent the morning with Brian.  They went to Saver's and did some shopping, and then it was off to the Ace for lunch.  BBQ ribs and angry bite of cheese cake, (Doug insisted on Ceil having a bit).  One of the items Brian bought for Ceil was a bell, so that she can ring for service whenever she wants.  Ha ha.

Thursday Update

Ceil had her leg brace adjusted and it looks like it will be much better now.  We also made a stop at Home Depot to look at a new stove.  While there, we had to look at the Christmas trees.  Below are some photos from Monday's therapy.  The OT worked with Ceil on dressing herself.  They started with shorts.  A nice day over all for Ceil.  Every day we have with our loved ones is a true gift.
