Time for some grillin' and chillin' for Ceil
A blog that is following the life of Cecelia, living at home after her stroke (which left her with right side paralysis and aphasia). There's no place like home!

Saturday Update - Rain...
Ceil was up and having her hair done by Linda. After a nice breakfast, we decided to brave the rain and go to Walmart to pick up a prescription for Ceil. Just as we were leaving, it began to rain. We just made it to the van, and by the time we got to Walmart it was really coming down. It was nice to get out of the house for a while, and the rain added a little excitement to the trip. Looks like another quiet day for Ceil at home.

Friday Update
Ceil was up and doing fine this morning. It's been another one of those quiet days for Ceil. Outside of spinning, ROM, and a grueling session of up and downs on the railing, it's been very quiet. Hopefully the weekend will bring some activity and variety for Ceil. Keep checking back.

Thursday Update - On the Trail with Doug
Doug came for his Thursday visit with Ceil. They were off to explore the Beaver Islands trail. It was a nice morning for exploring and trail -blazing. Ceil had a wonderful time with Doug.
Such a beautiful morning to be outside enjoying the nature trail!
Doug and Ceil ended up at RJs grill for lunch, which included a slice of chocolate cake!
Later, Linda, Christopher and Ceil took another walk. Mrs. Walters came out her home to say hello to Ceil. They talked for quite a while, as they had a lot of catching up to do.
Linda joined in on the conversation.
We stopped by the playground for a few minutes

Tuesday Morning Walk
Ceil was up and doing great this morning. It has been a pretty quiet day today. A little therapy and then off for a nice slow walk in this beautiful weather. Ceil really enjoyed the sun and gentle breezes as we walked through the neighborhoods. Ceil looked at all the every garden and the flowering plants that are starting to bloom. It was a nice walk indeed.

Monday Update - A day with Denise - Making Vino!
Ceil is up and doing fine this morning. Denise was here at 8:30 to get Ceil so that she can spend the day at her house. They have a nice day planned, but I'll let Denise tell you how things went, as she will be writing the blog again today. Below are the great pictures Denise took today.
Denise write:
"Mom and I had a pretty busy morning today. As I needed help with my current wine making projects she was quickly promoted to wine making assistant, a job that she handled well. We started the morning by finishing up the pear and generic red wine I had started yesterday. Mom added the pectic enzyme to both wines and gave them a good string. We checked the sugar content and the temperature and decided all readings looked good. We discussed wine yeasts and came up with the two best suited yeasts for each wine. Our next job was to bottle the peach wine which was started last August. Mom's job, usually mine when Bill is helping, was to say "whoa" when the siphoned wine came close to the top of the bottle. The next step in the process was for us to count to thirty as we sterilized the corks in the pot of simmering water on the stove. Mom thought this was humorous, but joined in as she saw that this was an important part of the process. Next was the corking. Mom held the bottles while I drove the corks home so to speak. When the job was completed we had 13 bottles of very nice dry peach wine ready for the cellar. Mom let me know she needed a little rest after all this activity and took a short nap in grandma Agnes's old gold chair. After a nice lunch of steak sandwiches and salad it was time for both of us to nap. Thanks mom for all your help. You are now my permanent assistant though next time I may need your help with my next potential hobby, soap making." Denise

I'll stick with milk!
We had a great day!
The fun continued, as Doug took Ceil to the Paramount for a Municipal Band concert. Ceil had so much fun with Doug, listening to the music and seeing some old fiends. Many thanks to Doug for showing Ceil a great time tonight.
The old safe
Beautiful evening to be out.

Sunday Update - New Hair Style for Ceil
Ceil was up and ready for a new hair style. After a nice breakfast and a long phone conversation with Larry, it was off for a nice walk around the neighborhood for some fresh air. Then it was off to the mall for a new hair style for Ceil. The stylist was very nice and did such a great job with with Ceil's hair. She took her time and made sure that Ceil was happy with her new hair style. Many thanks to the stylist at Great Clips! Afterward, we went to Crafts Direct to see what they had. The store was very nicely laid out, with such a large selection of crafts to choose from. Ceil enjoyed the variety and all of the creative and colorful items they carried. One of those simple outings that was a pleasant surprise for all of us.
The ice skating area is now a community garden!

What do you think?
Great job! Thank you!
Crafts Direct had more than we expected
Always dare to dream, and have hope for tomorrow.
