Sunday Morning with Kevin

Kevin came to spend some quality time with Ceil today.  Ceil was looking very beautiful today, and was looking forward to Kevin's visit.  They were off to the Mall for some shopping and looking around.  Then, it was over to Brigette's for lunch.  Ceil had the breakfast special for lunch, while Kevin had the hot beef sandwich.  It looked pretty good.  Having her kids come to visit really makes Ceil's day happier for sure.
Ceil is now enjoying her new favorite show, Ninja Warrior.  She is watching very intently and really getting into the excitement of the obstacle course and how the athletes wipe out and fall into the water.

Saturday Update

Saturday was a quiet day for the most part.  The weather was quite cold this morning, so we stayed in-doors.  Linda contacted Denise to see if she could come over and visit Ceil, and  Denise was excited to come, as she had not been feeling well for the past few days, but wanted to come over.  We also enjoy it when family come to visit, as it gives Ceil a break from the day to day routine, and from us.  The Fletchers showed up with pizza in hand. We had a nice dinner together, filled with good conversation and funny stories.  Ceil was all smiles and enjoyed every minute of the time they were here.  A very nice evening.

Friday Update - White Castle!

Ceil was up and doing great this morning.  The big event of the day, (you can tell we have an exciting life), was going to the new White Castle here in St. Cloud.  Ceil was excited to be going and it was just like being in the cities.  It was fun to finally be eating a famous slider.  It was the first time for Linda.  We enjoyed our time at White Castle, and it was fun watching Ceil have some fun as well.  A nice Friday indeed.

Thursday Update - The Morning with Doug

Doug was here right at 9 am to take Ceil out for the morning. It was a bit chilly, but the sun was shinning.  The two were on a mission to find a specific part to Doug's broken sun lamp that Ceil had given him as a Christmas gift a few years ago.  The search would lead them to a number of stops along the way, but in the end, the part could not be found.  So, it was off to lunch at RJs American Grill for a sandwich and some bread pudding.  Then it was back home for an afternoon nap.  There's no place like home.  
Later it was zero point soup and a tuna fish wrap for dinner.  Then it was time for some man v food, and AMC to follow.  See you tomorrow.

Wednesday Update

Ceil was doing great this morning.  After a nice french toast and bacon breakfast, Ceil was on the recumbent bike for a mile ride!  Then it was off to Sam's to get some supplies and visit with Dr. Doug.  It was a nice visit with Doug.  Doug told Ceil about his GPS mapping for his next trip out of the country, planned for this summer.   We pick up a couple of things at Sam's and it was back home for lunch.  After dinner, Ceil was happy to see Christopher and held him for a little while.  Now it is time for AMC and then off to bed.  Doug will be here tomorrow to spend the morning with Ceil.  See you later.

Tuesday Update -Quiet Day

Ceil was up and doing great this morning.  It was a very quiet day today.  Ceil was just relaxing and watching TV for the most part.  Tuesdays seem to be like that.  Ceil has been working hard for the last few months, so a day off is not a bad thing.  Keep her in your prayers, and keep in touch.

President's Day

Ceil was up and smiling this morning.  After breakfast and a lot of shoveling, it was off to the mall for an outing.  One of the items on the list was one of those fried cherry pies to have for President's day.  It was a nice quiet morning at the mall for Ceil to just window shop and peolple watch.  We stopped and had a nice little lunch at Target.  The weather was not getting any better, so it was back to the house for a nap.  Afterward, we had a third of a cherry pie, and then it was a delightful chicken salad for dinner.  Now Ceil is enjoying the Wheel of Fortune.  I'd like to buy a vowel...

Ceil was up and doing great this Sunday morning. After breakfast, Larry called and talked with Ceil for a while.  Then the deacon and his wife came to give Ceil communion.  It was also a nice visit, as Ceil knew them from church.  After communion, we were off to Walmart for some shopping.  Steve, Katie, and Christopher came for a visit after Ceil's nap.  The weather started to change for the worse, so it we were in for the night.  Food network and then to bed.  Good night all.

Ceil was happy that Brian and Micki were coming today.  They came at 10:00 and were ready to go to Walmart, aka, hillbilly heaven, and then to Saver's.  The trio went to D.B. Searle's for a delightful lunch .  Then it was back home for a much needed nap.  More later.

Friday Update

Ceil was doing quiet well this morning.  The weather had taken a change for the worst, so we stayed indoors for the morning.  Very quiet morning and after noon.  We will go on an outing this evening after dinner.  Stay tuned.

Thursday Update

Ceil was doing well this morning.  Doug came right after breakfast to take Ceil for an outing.  They went to several stores and mainly window shopped, and then went to Ceil's favorite place for lunch - Famous Dave's.  It was a quiet evening, with a visit from baby Christopher.  Nice day overall.

Wednesday Update - Nice Enough for a Walk

Ceil was up and doing fine this morning.  It was a nice day, and the sun was shining for the most part.  We decided to go and visit Linda at ING.  Ceil really enjoys going downtown to see Linda.  We had a nice visit and Ceil split a coconut "honeymooner" with Linda.  Yum!  After our visit, we decided to go for a walk downtown in the sun and warmer weather.  Finally, a walk outside in the fresh air!  It was very pleasant.

Tuesday Update

Ceil was up and ready to go to her routine mammogram appointment this morning.  Other than that it was a quiet day for Ceil.  Cela dropped by for a few minutes to visit Ceil after her nap.  No plans for the evening, so it will be a quiet night at home for Ceil.

Valentine's Day

Ceil was up with a smile this morning.  It was a nice quiet day for Ceil until Denise and Hannah came with Valentine greetings.  Ceil was so delighted to see them and the beautiful balloon and card they brought.  It was a nice visit filled with lots of laughter and hugs.  Ceil enjoyed a Jucy Lucy with onion rings for dinner, and then the door bell rang and in walked Mary with Valentine candy in hand.  Another light-hearted visit with stories and laughter.  a nice way to end another pleasant day at home.

Ceil was up and looking really beautiful this morning.  Linda gave Ceil the "salon" treatment this morning, and she really looked great afterward.  The deacon from St. Pete's came to give Ceil communion after breakfast.  It is so nice of them to come and provide for Ceil a meaningful time of worship and fellowship with God.  After her nap, it was off to our friends, Ken and Judy's for dinner.  What a nice time it was for Ceil to visit them and have a nice relaxed dinner.  ken and Judy think of Ceil as their own mother.  They truly care for, and love her.  Steve, Katie and Christopher stopped to visit as well, making it a full afternoon for Ceil.  Lots more good times coming.  Stay tuned!

Saturday Update

Today promises to be much warmer than the last few days.  There are also some good things in store for Ceil today.  Pictures and a story to follow.  It was a surprise party for Denise.  Ceil was excited and looking forward to being a part of Bill's scheme to pull off the old, surprise! when Denise walks in the door.  There were a lot of friends and family in attendance.  The house was packed with people.  Well, I, and those of you who were there today can safely say Bill pulled it off, and in grand fashion!  The party was a blast and Denise was in her much deserved moment.  Ceil was all smiles as Denise opened gifts and read birthday cards.  The Kodak moment came when Ceil and Denise blew out the birthday candles.  I hope you enjoy the pictures, and happy birthday Denise!

Friday Update

Ceil was doing great this morning.  Ceil was on the recumbent bike for 25 minutes, and went 1.1 miles!  A new record!  Claude came by with pizza for dinner, and Ceil really enjoyed that.  Later, Steve, Katie, and Christopher stopped by on their way home from the airport to visit and tell us of their trip to Florida.  It was a pleasant day for Ceil.

Thursday Update - The Morning with Doug

Ceil will be spending the morning with Doug.  Doug was kind enough to give me the morning off to run errands and visit with Linda.  Doug is also trying to arrange for Sister M&M to be a part of the morning visit.  Ceil was excited to hear that Sister M&M might be coming over with Doug.  Should be a fun time.  More to come.

Wednesday Update

Ceil was up and doing great this morning.  We went on an outing to Sam's Club and met up with Dr. Doug for a quick visit.  After a little shopping, it was off to Crossroads for another outing and people watching.  Then, it was over to Famous Dave's for lunch.  A busy little morning for Ceil, who is now enjoying a peaceful nap. Tuesday Update

Ceil is doing really great this morning.   We are going to do some extensive ROM on the right arm this morning to ensure that it remains flexible and pain-free.  We will also do the recumbent bike, the EMPI, and speech.  Every little thing helps to keep the recovery moving forward.

Monday Update

Ceil is doing great this morning.  We are now going to do therapy at home, and I will be looking into various educational materials and visual aids to use for OT and speech.  Today will be about the usual therapies, and a couple of special projects for Ceil to do around her home.  This will give her a chance to make the decision on what to keep or throw out as she cleans and sorts through her household items, i.e., cleaning supplies, makeup, etc.  More to come...

       Mary and Wayne sent a thoughtful and beautiful valentine's day card to Ceil.  She was so delighted!

Superbowl Sunday

Ceil is up and doing great this morning.  No solid plans for today, just resting and watching cooking shows for now.  We will see what the day will bring.  Being home gives Ceil so many more options for participating in events and activities, and the freedom to get up and go in a moments notice. This is a wonderful thing.

Saturday is Festerday!

Ceil is doing really great this morning.  She is excited that Brian, (aka Fester) and Micki are coming to spend the morning with her.  Ceil will be treated a whirlwind trip through Savers, the Mall, and lunch.  Oh boy!  Story and pictures to follow - Well, after Ceil's afternoon nap, we decided to call Denise to see if we could come over for dinner,and an impromptu early birthday party.  Denise was excited to have Ceil come, but was not aware that we were planning to give some early gifts for her birthday.  It was a wonderful time, and Bill and Denise were great hosts, as usual.  The dinner was great, as was the conversation.  Afterward, Denise brought out some of the coconut cake that she made late last week.  We put a candle on the remaining cake and sang happy birthday to Denise.  It was a sweet moment for Denise and Ceil, as they blew out the single candle together.  A really good time.
