Ceil was up bright and early this morning. Ceil used her new cane to walk from her bed to her bathroom. Ceil got all gussy-up for brunch with Brian, Mickie, Rob, Linda, Steve, Kaite and the little man. We all met up at Coyote Moon. Ceil enjoyed everything from scrambled eggs to shrimp to pumpkin pie. Ceil was surprised and happy to run into Jeff Pagel at brunch. Jeff is an old friend of Dale's. Ceil was so delighted to see Jeff and visit with him. Jeff says hello to all the Grosses. Nothing planned the rest of the day....maybe someone will call or maybe there's an event happening in town we'll drop in on later.
A blog that is following the life of Cecelia, living at home after her stroke (which left her with right side paralysis and aphasia). There's no place like home!

Quiet week this week. Ceil has been assigned some tasks around the house. Thursday Ceil sorted and cleaned the top drawers of the bathrooms. She has more drawers to tackle next week. Yesterday Ceil, Rob and Linda went to the Art Crawl in downtown St. Cloud. Except for free wine and chocolate at the Frame Store, not much to see. The event was not disabled friendly...the aisles in the stores were too narrow for a even a small wheelchair. Today Kevin and Colleen came up to take Ceil on an outing. The three enjoyed the flowers at Munsinger. Apparently the peacocks were busy last spring as it appears there are baby peacocks in the pen at the park. They took a walk down by the river also and to the dam. Beautiful day to be outside. After the park they went to the Park Diner. Ceil enjoyed a BLT. BLTs are always a sign that summer is finally here. Nothing on the agenda this evening. We'll see if anyone calls or stops by, if not we'll get out for a walk...and I do mean a walk. We bought Ceil a quad-prong cane today and we will have Ceil trying it out in the evenings after dinner. Ceil walk from her bed to the bathroom this morning with assistance. It's about time to get her out of the wheelchair and get her back on her feet. We'll keep everyone posted on how it goes.

another week in the life of Ceil
Summer has started and so begins the summer events. This week Ceil's new chair came. Her last chair wore out after two years of active use. By all estimates, there must of been at least 500-600 miles put on her old chair. Her new chair came just in time for the weekend. Linda took time off on Friday. Ceil, Linda and Rob went on an outing to the ReStore store (Habit for Humanity store for new and used home building supplies). We also went to Kohl's and K-Mart. For lunch we stopped at the Vietnamese store/restaurant for lunch. Mom had her favorite sandwich. Rob had Pad Tai and Linda had a noodle salad. Good flavors. Kevin stopped in on his way back to Crystal from his camping trip up north. Ceil loves seeing family and was happy to see Kevin walk through the door. Kevin shared his camping stories with Ceil and reminisced about their camping trip to the White Earth Pow Wow a few years ago. Today Ceil was up early and off to the parade in Sartell. We watched on the parade on Katie and Steve's front lawn that faces the river. We had a great view and Ceil had fun watching the parade with her little man. Tonight Marlene stopped by. We popped the stick drive into the TV and watched the wedding photos. Marlene enjoyed seeing Ceil and her family having a good time. After Marlene left, we went on a long walk through the neighborhoods. Now we are relaxing and watching "Chopped" on TV. Nothing planned tomorrow but we'll see what happens.

What has Ceil been up to???
What has Ceil been up to??? Here are some pictures.
Memorial Day at the VA. Dale, Kevin, Colleen, Ceil, Rob, Linda and the little man Christopher attended the parade and ceremony.
Ceil with Dale and Joe Perske. Joe and Dale ran Cross Country together at Apollo. Joe is the mayor of Sartell. This picture was taken seconds before Joe got the word that there was an explosion at the Paper Milll in Sartell. Joe quickly excused himself and started emergency procedures.
Memorial Day at David and Kathy's cabin on Pearl Lake. Ceil, Dale, Kevin, Colleen, David, Kathy, Sam (Kathy and David's grandson), Rob, Linda, Hannah, and the little man Christopher visited for a few hours. Always nice to see Kathy and David.
Doug and Ceil ready for an outing...the last one for the two of them until Doug comes back from his trip to Scotland.
