TX visitors, wedding receptions and more!!!

Ceil had a busy week last week.  Visitors came knocking on her door Wednesday evening.  Rob and Linda came up from Texas for a five day visit.  Ceil woke up surprised when Linda was standing over her in the morning singing "Good Morning, Good Morning...".  Karen gave mom a healthy breakfast of oatmeal and juice.  Afterwards Ceil, Linda, Rob, Karen and Jasmine (Robbie's girlfriend) were off to a morning of shopping and errands.  Ceil helped pick out some curtains for Robbie and Jasmine's house. Then it was off to the shoe store to buy Ceil some new running shoes.  Jasmine got some new workout shoes and Rob got some work shoes as well.  Then it was off to Walmart to find a bike for Jasmine and some take-home lunch for the tired shoppers.  Broasted chicked and macaroni salad was on the menu for lunch. After the busy morning of shopping Ceil was ready for a little power-nap.  Thursday evening was time to relax and catch up on the latest news of the family.
Up and adam on Friday.  Ceil, Rob, Linda and Karen were off to the Benton County Fair to take a look around.  It was nice and quiet and the four of them were able to take their time strolling through the exhibits and some of the livestock.  Linda found $5.00 on the ground so it was off to Burger King for the dollar menu at lunch time.  Sometimes junk food tastes just so darn good!  Friday evening  Kevin and Colleen came.  Karen made a yummy pizza.  Ceil does love pizza!  David (Karen's son) also came to town as there was a big event we were all going to the next day.  Joe, little Cecelia and Leo came to town and visited with everyone. The biggest news of that day was Gene's Auto Repair caught on fire and that just so happened to be where Karen and Joe were getting their car fixed. After googling for different stories online, we did come across a picture where we spotted "Geraldine" (their car) and saw that it was safe from the fire.
Ceil started her Saturday with a wonderful pancake breakfast made by Colleen. Ceil needed a good breakfast. It was a big day for Ceil as she was attending her second-youngest child's, Brian, wedding reception. After nine years, Brian proposed to Mickie and they were wed last month in Las Vegas.  And what a nice reception it was. Brian and Mickie prepared, hosted, decorated and cooked for the reception.  Guests brought side salads if they wished. There were brats, hamburgers, salads, desserts, and yes cake.  Ceil was happy to see family and friends she hadn't seen for a long time, including old neighbors from the pantown neighborhood Mark Banker and his wife. Ceil's newest great grandbaby Adele and her parents Chris and Juanita were able to make it to the event- yeah! Doug was there and enjoyed seeing everyone. David and Kathy Gross were there and a cribbage game broke out before dinner...sorry Chris but there's no beating David in cribbage. Denise, Bill and Ian came and had lots of stories to tell about their trip to the east coast.  Ceil enjoyed herself very much. BRIAN AND MICKIE DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!! THANK YOU BRIAN AND MICKIE!!! Saturday evening, back at the house, everyone gathered to visit, share stories, and hang out.  Sunday was a little more laid back with a nice breakfast of eggs and bacon cooked by Colleen. After breakfast everyone took a walk around the old neighborhood (down to 25th Ave and back). Almost looked like a parade with all the people; Ceil, Kevin, Colleen, Neeji (their dog), Karen, Chris, Juanita, Adele, Linda and Rob.  It was a beautiful morning to be outside. After lunch and after Ceil 's nap, the house filled up even more.  Ken and Judy Grimsley stopped in, and soon afterwards Claude came.  Kevin and Chris decided it was a Waldo's Pizza night, so everyone enjoyed pizza from their favorite pizza place from their teen years.  Denise, David and Ian came just in time to join in for the pizza. After dinner, and some more visiting, it was time to say good-bye. Chris, Juanita and Adele left for Bemidji.  Kevin and Colleen headed back to Minneapolis. And Linda and Rob had to say their goodbyes to Ceil.  It was a busy four days for Ceil but a very enjoyable time for her and everyone that was there.
My apologies- most of the pictures are on a different laptop and not accessible- here are the pics we have- I will post more pics if I can get access to them:

Ceil's brother passing

Ceil's brother, John Beaulieu, passed away this week.  The funeral was in Island Lake, MN.  Karen, Kevin, Brian and Ceil drove to the funeral early Friday morning. Ceil was both happy and sad. Happy to see her sisters (Maxine and Doris) and her brother (Conrad) and her nieces and nephews, but sad to see another sibling pass away.  Ceil stayed alert the whole day and enjoyed being with her family.  Although it was only a day trip, everyone enjoyed catching up with each others' lives and perhaps another outing will be planned again soon. Here are the pictures from the cemetery:
