A blog that is following the life of Cecelia, living at home after her stroke (which left her with right side paralysis and aphasia). There's no place like home!

Wednesday Update
Ceil is doing great today. Very quiet here at home, nothing to report. See you tomorrow.
Oh, thank you so much for having a quiet day. Now, I don't have to worry about leaving a comment. We've been on the road all day and I'm just bushed. I don't know if I really am up to leaving a comment. We're in beautiful Jamestown, ND on our way back to Bozeman. Things are going well, except the wind was blowing hard right at the car. That really killed our gas mileage. But, as I said, we're doing fine.
BTW, Doris had a GREAT gathering at her house last night. Maxine and Lee were there, as well as Con and Angie, along with Mary Fredickson and Ann Bowman. Ann was there, too. Dewey and Bambi were there, too. A bunch of kids were running around. Doris made home-made baked beans and pulled pork. It was soooooo good. The desserts were fabulous, too. Boy, did we have a good time. So, we want to thank Doris for that.
We saw Lois Claire Goodwin at the Red Lake nursing home. She's doing well and sends everyone her regards.
I realized there are a whole lot of people I forgot to mention who were there, too. David Skunes and his wife, Sue, came. Shelly Girard was there. Con's daughter, Debbie came. Ann Vleck's daughter, Mia, said Ann was there, but I didn't see her. Allen Vleck's wife, Karen, was there. Mary Fredickson's husband, Kim, was there. Allen Vleck came later. I think that's everybody. If I forgot anybody, I apologize.
We also had potato salad and a pasta salad, along with watermelon.
Maxine made a rhubarb dish with a whipped cream and vanilla pudding frosting. Karen made a pineapple cake with a whipped cream and vanilla pudding frosting. So, we had a good laugh about the frosting. Dewey and Bambi brought ice cream and a home-made blueberry and raspberry sauce with berries they picked themselves. The deserts were delicious, one and all. Of course, the main dishes were great, too.
We had lots of fun last Saturday with everybody. But, I have to tell you, I won't soon forget that gathering we had last night.
Well, it turns out we're lucky we got a room in Jamestown. Because of the oil boom in western North Dakota and the floods in eastern North Dakota, it's hard to come by motel rooms in North Dakota. Can you believe it? Someone told Noriko when the motel rooms in the oil boom area around Williston fill up, they go to Bismarck. When those rooms fill up, they go to Jamestown. When they fill up, they go to Fargo. I guess just about every room in Jamestown has been sold out every night since June! Can you believe it. So, like I said, I guess we're lucky we got a room. Also, please be advised, if you're going to spend the night in North Dakota, be sure to phone ahead for a reservation!
Also, be prepared to pay a lot of money for your motel room. We're paying a rate that's closer to rates you'd pay in downtown Minneapolis as opposed to just about any other small, rural town!
