Thursday Update

Ceil is doing well today.  She did her spinning this morning and is now enjoying a little Food Network.  We are expecting visitors later today, who may stay for New Years day.  Chris and Juanita came to visit today!  Ceil was so surprised to see them, and had big smile on her face as the walked in the room.  Steve, Katie, and baby Christopher came to visit as well.  Another big surprise for great-grandma!

Wednesday Therapy at the Plaza

Ceil will have Speech and PT this morning at the plaza.  Should be a good morning for Ceil.  Ceil did very well in speech this morning and worked very hard during her PT session as well.  Ceil continues to make small steps toward her recovery.  Though it is difficult at times, Ceil plugs away like a real trooper.

Tuesday Update

Ceil was up and alert this morning.  Ceil is excited to know that Denise is coming to spend some time with her today.  No therapies today, so Denise and Ceil should be able to have some fun together this morning.

Monday

Sunny and cold at the plaza this morning.

Ceil had therapy early this morning, but did really well.  OT was very good for Ceil, as she continues to progress in many areas.  She took her shoes off in record time today!  She also did really well at the Dynavision board.  PT was good, and she walked a lot during her session.  As we approach the year mark since her stroke.  It is a great thing to watch Ceil continue to work hard to make small steps, and gain more strength and use of her right leg and arm, and improvements in her speech.  None of this would have been possible had she remained in the nursing home.  So, for Ceil, being home has been the key to her success thus far, and Linda and I are looking forward to many more years of continued progress and good health for Ceil, and will continue to care for Ceil at home as long as it takes.  Our reward is seeing Ceil's smiling face every morning as she wakes up in her own bed.
Shoes off in record time!

Sunday

Ceil had communion this morning at home.  It was nice to have one of the servers come from St. Pete's to do this for Ceil.  Later, we went to Sam's club for an outing, and to get out of the house after three days straight of being in-doors.  Even the simple outings are fun with Ceil, and she always seems to enjoy them so much.

Cracker anyone?

Claude stopped by for a visit, and stayed for dinner.

Christmas Day at Home!

Just having Ceil at home for Christmas is the best gift of all!  We are looking forward to many more holidays, visits, and wonderful times with Ceil at home.  Linda and I are grateful to be a part of Ceil's recovery at home, and will continue to care for her as long as God allows it to be.  Merry Christmas to you all!

Thursday Therapy at the Plaza

Ceil has a 3:30 OT session at the plaza today.  Should be a quiet day with the usual activities and cares.  Ceil is doing very well today, and woke up alert and happy.  She enjoyed French toast for breakfast, and is now spinning to keep those legs in shape.  Doug came over and took Ceil for an outing.  Ceil came back home for lunch, which will be followed by her afternoon nap.  Then, it is off to therapy at the plaza.
Ceil worked with a new OT today, and it went really well.

Ceil was on the mat today for the first time.  Oh, don't worry, she won 2 out of 3 falls.

Ceil was on her knees working her right arm and leg.  This OT was really working Ceil today.
