Four day update- not much happening

Been a few days since the blog has been written...it's been pretty quiet here.  On Thursday Doug took Ceil on the usual morning outing.  They did make a stop at Home Depot...Before Ceil's stroke, she use to love to wander around in that store.  Friday was quiet.  Arby's has a deal on fish sandwiches so Ceil bought a round of fish sandwiches, curly fries and jamocha shakes for the three of us.  On Saturday Kevin and Colleen came to spend the morning with Ceil.  They took Ceil on a little shopping trip to the mall...I think they found some deals at Scheels (hey that rhymes).  Then it was off to TGIF (even though it was Saturday) for lunch.  Kevin and Ceil tried the sampler platter....sounded like a great plate of food to sample.  The weather got pretty cold Saturday evening so we stayed inside.  Ken and Judy came for dinner.  Ceil loves hearing "Ken and Judy stories".  We enjoyed a nice little steak dinner. Ken and Judy brought a coconut cake for dessert...OMG- that was so good!  There is leftovers, so Ceil will get another piece this evening.  Today, we were trying to figure out what to do, so we decided to take a little nickel tour of Cold Spring and Rockville.  We stopped at The Granite Edge Diner for lunch.  I said "It's good to be back in Rocksville" and then the waitress asked if we have been away for awhile.  I explained that my dad grew up in Rockville, my grandma cooked for the guests at the granite house and that I was related to probably every Gross in Rockville.  Turns out the waitress had Maggie Gross for her 4th grade teacher.  Ceil is resting now. We will probably head to Home Depot after her nap to look for mini-blinds.  Before Ceil's stroke Ceil had asked Rob to put mini blinds up in her bedroom, so now we figured we'd start putzing with a few things that Ceil wants done.  We'll see how that goes.

  1. Fish sandwiches on Friday during Lent. Good! No meat on Friday during Lent! Everyone knows that!

Did you drive by the "Big House" when you were Rockville? How about Grandma's old house? How's it doing? Does it still have the oak trees? Just wondering.

    Keep the updates coming!
