Saturday- Road Trip to Forest Lake!!!
Ceil was up early....no time to sleep in because a road trip to Forest Lake was planned. Cousin Susie and Robbie live in Forest Lake so we decided it was time to visit them. We made a stop at Trader Joe's in Maple Grove. We picked up a few things and a surprise for Denise (her birthday is around the corner). We headed to Forest Lake afterwards. Both Susie and Robbie were expecting us around 11:30...we were early so we took a little drive around town. What a beautiful and fun place this must be in the summertime, but right now it was just ice and fish houses all over the lake. We arrived and Robbie was there to greet us...soon after Susie came home. Susie is graciously renting a room to Robbie. Robbie had to relocate to Forest Lake quickly due to his job requirement and this gives Robbie time to look a place of his own while renting at Susie's. Susie was SO happy to her Auntie Ceil! And what a cute and charming house Susie has on the lake! After a lot of hugs and kisses, we all jumped in the van and headed to Norman Quack's Chophouse for lunch. We tasted the soup, ribs, burgers and walleye....it was all good! We stayed for a long time and visited at the restaurant. It was nice catching up with Susie. Susie has been a caregiver for many people in her life so it was nice sharing with her what's going on with Ceil (and her understanding what it's like to be in our shoes). Susie was thrilled to see that her Auntie Ceil was doing so well. We went back to Susie's house for coffee and a brownie after lunch. We had such a great time at Susie's. Susie wants us to come again but next time bring our swimsuits so we can jump in her hot tub. We said absolutely yes we would come back. Maybe once the ice thaws we will take another road trip to Forest Lake.

Well, well, well, if it isn't Auntie Joan--I mean, cousin Susie. Like mother, like daughter, that's what I say. I'm all for the hot tub. I can't believe we've lived in California for over six months and haven't been in a hot tub once! We'll have to work on that.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, glad to see Susie and Robbie are doing well.
We have a Trader Joe's out here. I think they're taking over the world! So, watch out for them!
