Thursday Update - Lunch with the Boys

Ceil was doing just fine this morning.  After breakfast, Doug came for his Thursday visit and outing with Ceil.  They went to Manards, Union Depot, and then to the Nelson Bros truck stop in Clearwater.  Brian met them there for lunch.  Ceil enjoyed her lunch and visit with the boys.  The home health nurse willl be making her bi-weekly visit today to check up on Ceil and see how things are going with therapy, etc.

Wednesday Update - PT Evaluation and an Evening Out

Ceil has been having a nice day.  The PT from home care came this morning to evaluate Ceil to make a plan for therapy.  The therapist felt that twice a week would be a good place to start.  He also indicated that Steve would be coming back to work with Ceil.  Ceil walked down the hallway with the PT and did really well!  Ceil has a lot left to give, and having home care coming again will ensure that she will keep moving forward.
On a lighter note.  Ceil will be going out to the St. Augusta Legion with Brain, Micki, and Doug this evening.  She is looking good and looking forward to seeing her dancing friends again.
Ceil had a wonderful time at the legion this evening.  She was greeted by friends and enjoyed the dinner and music.  Great to see her having fun with friends and family. We look forward to more evenings like this in the future.  Enjoy the photos below.

Ready for a night out!

Fester is in the house!

Tuesday Update

Ceil was doing great this morning.  Doug came to spend the morning with Ceil.  They went to Kohl's and looked around a bit. Then it was off to Grizzle's for lunch.  It was a nice time for the both of them.  The rest of the day was quiet and rather uneventful, but pleasant all the same.  Tomorrow promises to bring more stories and pictures.  Y'all come back now.  One little update.  Technology is so cool. Linda dropped all the pictures from the last year on a junk drive and plugged it into Ceil's TV. Ceil got to watch a slideshow...starring Ceil. She was grinning and pointing out everyone in the pictures. There are almost 1200 pictures. Below are just a few pictures from the slideshow:

Monday Update - Home Care Evaluation!

Ceil was up and doing great this morning.  After breakfast, Ceil went a mile at #3 resistance on the recumbent bike!  Very good!  The big news of the day is home care is coming at 11:00 this morning to do an evaluation for services for Ceil.  I called Dr. S last week to reactivate the service.  This would be a great thing for Ceil, as she would have a PCA come in two or three times a week for a shower, which would give Linda a break and provide a much needed service for Ceil.  We may be able to get in-home therapy back, which would also be great.  Well, the home care nurse came to evaluate Ceil and was very impressed with how good she looked.  She was totally supportive and wanted to get both the PCA and therapy going again!  What a blessing!  Ceil's vital signs were fantastic and the nurse could not believe she was 80.
Later on, the nurse called me back.  Looks like we will be getting the PCA to come twice a week for Ceil's personal cares, and therapy will be calling me to set up evaluation times for this week as well.  Exciting stuff!  More great stories of recovery for Ceil to come.  Every day at home matters!

Sunday Update - New Hair Style for Ceil

Ceil had a nice morning communion, and then we were off to Crossroads for a new hair style. The finished product was a lovely new style for a lovely lady. Linda and I treated Ceil to Culver's after our trip to the mall.  Haircut, sunshine and Culver's:
